How Pontoon Boats Are Made

Last updated 4 years ago

Pontoon boats have a somewhat unique design compared to other boats. Two hollow tubes, called pontoons, on the bottom of the boat keep this vessel seaworthy and enhance its stability on the water.

The manufacturing of the two air-filled pontoons is one of the most important aspects when it comes to making a pontoon. Workers bend, weld, seal, and finally waterproof each pontoon tube with great care. Inside each pontoon are several chambers, which keep the boat afloat even if one chamber fills with water. Watch this video to see how it all comes to together in the end.

Moose Landing Marina is your source for the latest pontoons. Our fully-equipped boats can be rented for half day, full day, or longer periods of time. Reservations are encouraged. Give us a call at (207) 693-6264 for pontoon rentals in Maine.
